
Figures for 2009/10 have seen a 14% increase in single claims over the previous year with around one third of total claims associated with unfair dismissal, breach of contract and redundancy. Interestingly only around 10% of claims reach an outcome in Tribunal suggesting that, with the right help, costly proceedings can be avoided in the majority of cases.
The critical period is the beginning - responding to the documentation, understanding the context, assessing the risks and working with you to see how the dispute can be resolved. Our approach is hands on, commercial, pragmatic with a view to getting the right result for the client. A clear and appropriate approach initially, often saves a lot of time and expense later. If needs be, we can represent you in Tribunal but our aim is to avoid this. From about 60 employment related enquiries a year, we generally only deal with a better than average two to three Tribunals a year.
